2018 Shiraz - Single Vineyard - 6 Bottle Case
6 x 750mL CASE
Our wines are handcrafted with minimal intervention as to truly reflect the purist expression of vineyard, vintage and variety. From the vineyard to the bottle, only the gentlest techniques are utilised; harvest by hand, whole berry de-stemming, open-vat temperature controlled fermentation, gentle basket-pressing and no finning or filtration prior to bottling.
The growing season started off well, with Winter 2017 rainfall around 10% higher than average. However, a low spring rainfall resulted in drier soils that combined with warmer than average October/November, meant the vine canopies grew quickly. March and early April saw average temperatures, without extremes, which was perfect for finishing off vintage. Overall 2018 is a high-quality vintage with good yields and reds showing upstanding colour and flavour.
The 2018 vintage has resulted in a wine with increased depth. Riper blue fruits, blackberry and cracked pepper on the powerful nose. Appealingly sweet dark berry and floral pastille flavours meld with mocha notes that build in the glass. Finishes on a tobacco, and smoky dark fruit note, harmonious tannins and length.
