HEY DIDDLE 2017 SHIRAZ
Barossa Valley, $35
FOR a first release the Port lads have nailed the on-trend style de jour which is quite fresh and spicy, a crimson fruit-forward and aromatic shiraz with just a lick of oak in the background.
It’s got plenty of retro-pop winemaking technique in play, wild ferment, basket pressed and looks the goods with distinctive packaging, under cork and wax in a dark, old port-style bottle.
At $35 it’s a long punt kick for goal in value terms, but there is a touch of sports celeb in the total package.
